No Fun League Strikes again

With the news of the NFL's recent rulings on the Saints coaches involved in the bounty system, all I have to say is wow.  Sean Payton was suspended for the entire year. Greg Williams is out indefinitely. This is a huge deal because he is now the Rams defensive coordinator and they are now getting punished for something they had no involvement in.

The Saints were also fined $500,000 and lost 2 second round draft picks. Their GM Mickey Loomis is suspended the first 8 games without pay. Assistant head coach Joe Vitt is also suspended without pay, but only for the first 6 games. Basically this is probably the toughest punishment any team has faced in years, if not ever.

I can't honestly think of any one incident that tops this. The Saints were absolutely destroyed by this ruling. Instead of being Superbowl Contenders, they are now stuck looking for coaches in the middle of the offseason.  Not only is this mind blowing because of the severity of the punishment, but it comes just days after Peyton Manning signed with the Broncos. The NFL sure is the hottest thing in the sports world right now. Roger Goodell has been known to lay down the law and punish people harshly, but to me this one is a bit over the top.
